Employment Focus has been a Community Work Coordinator (CWC) of the Work for the Dole program since 2000. As a CWC, Employment Focus brokers, and itself delivers, the creation and delivery of projects of community benefit which offer unemployed people the opportunity to gain work experience, improve work skills and undertake some training as part of the Commonwealth’s mutual obligation regime. The commencement of a new three year contract that commenced in July 2002, saw a variety of new initiatives:

  • Passport to Employment
  • Training Credits
  • Community Work Experience

Employment Focus, since 2000 has put more than 600 unemployed people through a diverse range of projects including: Website Development, Video Production, Gallery Exhibitions, Gallery Support, Information Technology, Administration, Event Management, Parks and Gardens Maintenance, Retail Stores and various school based placements.
